I tested the ‘Heartbeat skully hat’ crochet pattern

Last week, I got the chance to test another one of Julie King’s great hat patterns : the crochet heartbeat skully hat.

This hat uses partial skeins of worsted weight yarn, an H hook, and basic crochet stitches.  The pattern comes in two formats : skully or super long skully – I made the super long version because I prefer my hats slouchy.

It only took an evening to complete the hat, and while Julie lists it as intermediate, a determined beginner could probably breeze through this one too.

The resulting hat is a great 3-season (in Canada anyway) accessory.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry here.  It’s only 4$US for a very detailed, photo-filled, great hat pattern.
