Hook : H, 5mm

Yarn : Bernat Satin Solids (maybe?)

History :

This was my first intricate project and I am still very pleased with it years later.

But then… but then I went nuts.  I decided to modify a Doris Chan Pattern.  I decided to ‘open’ the design to get a more standard shawl shape.  And this happened.

Same hook & yarn.

It turned out ok, but not as pretty or useful as I’d hoped an open version would be – no doubt this is due to my absolute lack of talent at the time.  My grandmother loved it, though… and that picture of my Baby ACCROchet remains, to this day, one of my faves.  Such a sweet angel.

In the interest of transparency, the green border is there to mask some horrendous mistakes when modifying the pattern.  I took no notes, sorry, but then again if I had, you’d really hate me.

PS The book this is from, Amazing Crochet Lace, is a must for your crochet-centric library.  Trust me.
