Design Wars, 5th challenge: about Valley Yarns ‘Huntington’

Aussi en / Also in frFrançais

I’d never played with Valley Yarns at all, and I really can’t understand how that even happened now that I’ve had a chance to.

For this challenge, I chose Valley Yarns ‘Huntington’. This sock weight yarn comes in 30 solid colours. The colours are even more beautiful in life than in my pictures. And perfectly matched to each other.

I seriously could not get over just how soft Huntington is. And it crochets like a dream. I used my trusty Clover Amour 2.25 mm hook and had no splitting issues at all.

The nylon content is perfect for socks, but the softness of this yarn would totally lend itself to baby items, amigurumi, or dainty wearables. Importantly, this yarn is easy care & affordably priced. This is important if you take me up on my ideas for baby items or socks! Who wants socks they have to handwash and block everytime?

I’m bookmarking Valley Yarns ‘Huntington’ as a definite yarn to use again.

Content: 75% Superwash merino / 25% Nylon

Care: Machine wash

Weight: Sock

50g (218 yds)

Stay tuned: I’ll be introducing you to an all new pattern using this beautiful yarn on Wednesday =)
