MAPLE BLUES COOKIES
½ cup of half-salted butter
½ cup of brown sugar
½ cup of real maple syrup
1 large egg
1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp of baking powder
¾ cup dried wild blueberries
Small maple leaf candy for garnish (optional)
Note: INGREDIENTS MUST BE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE
Beat butter and brown sugar until the butter turns pale.
Add the syrup poor it slowly, mix well.
Add egg, mix well.
Mix flour and baking powder together and stir in the mixture, do not over mix.
When there are no more traces of the flour, add dried blueberries.
With an ice cream scoop, make 2-tablespoon balls and place on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.
Refrigerate 30 min.
Preheat oven to 325F
Flatten the cookies with the back of a wet glass and garnish with maple leaves.
Bake (top, one cookie sheet at a time) for 16 min or until the cake is lightly golden on rim.
Turn halfway through baking to ensure cookies bake evenly.
Cool completely before removing from the sheet.
Keeps one week in an airtight box.
