I tested : The Lemonade Shop yarns

The Lemonade Shop

I recently tested The Lemonade Shop’s yarns after coveting them for quite a while =) Working with Heather has been a breeze. She’s very busy, but also very generous with her time and awesome and friendly. But enough about Heather (sorry, Heather). Let’s talk about her yarns!

Here are the yarns I got to play with:

Fingering (Cherry Blossom):
400 yards / 100g
80% Merino / 20% Nylon

WORSTED (Cockatiel):
218 yards / 100g
100% Fine Superwash Merino

Other available weights : Fingering (Simple Sock & Mighty Sock), and Super Bulky.

Each skein is dyed individually with professional acid dye so each skein is unique and different. Some may have more pink while others may have more blue. This is the beauty of indie dyed yarn. Wash in cool water with like colors. Lay flat to dry.

Being a responsible crocheter, I swatched both yarns right away:

Aren’t these stunning? I can’t even pick a favorite.

Here are my thoughts about this yarn: I want it near me. I want more of it. It is lovely, soft, squishy, and beautifully dyed. It doesn’t split. It doesn’t have anything negative about it. As a side note: one of these yarns smelled like Thrill gum when I pulled it out of its bag. Thrill gum tastes like crap, but it smells like my childhood & that’s a good thing!

Here are the designs I created with both The Lemonade Shop yarns. Both are completed with just 1 skein!

Worsted: The Lemonade Hat – a lovely standard crochet hat you can wear over your messy summer hair.

Fingering : Ocean Geometry Scarf – a lacy Tunisian crochet scarf, working with a regular hook.

Again, I want to thank Heather for letting me play with her gorgeous yarns. If you’ve ever thought of purchasing from her, I’m telling you right now: stop hesitating.
