Look at this beautiful thing!
From the website: Billow is all about creature comforts: oversized cowls and wraps, lazy weekend pullovers, and cozy blankets that hug you back. A bulky weight yarn, Billow works up quickly while the luxuriously soft feel makes it the perfect treat for those with sensitive skin. With a contemporary and sophisticated palette that spans 16 stunning colors, Billow’s cloud-like softness is sure to tempt your needles and hooks to cast on your next project right away.

Pima cotton vs other cottons: Products made of 100% (American) Pima cotton will have superior strength to a product made of upland cotton or upland/Pima blended cottons, which will improve the durability and increase the lifespan of the textile and apparel products. Because of the fineness of organic pima cotton, more fibers can be spun into a yarn of a given count, which will enhance the feel and softness, drapeability and brilliance of color of a fabric. My thoughts: Billow by KnitPicks is, simply put, a joy to work with. The thick and think texture highlights the simplest of stitches with its cool texture. The resulting fabric is soft, yet resistant. The 16 colours on offer all match together making the difficult work of choosing colours for a project a little simpler than it would otherwise be. The yarn sheds a little while being crocheted, but not enough to make frogging harder.
When choosing a project to crochet with Billow, look for simple stitch patterns with larger hooks (6mm and up) to better showcase the thick and thin texture, and the softness of this yarn. Other than that, let loose: accessories, clothing, throws, etc. They’ll all look and feel fantastic crocheted in Billow.
I absolutely love Billow. I really can’t recommend it enough. It was the yarn that introduced me to KnitPicks and I’m always going to have a special place in my heart for it.
Care instructions are to handwash and lay flat to dry, but this scarf finished drying in the dryer (maybe 15 minutes) and the fiber remained just as soft and beautiful as it was prior to. I wouldn’t recommend this with a more complex project. I never do!
